About This Spot

Stepping into Mom-Mom’s Kitchen feels like entering a warmly lit neighborhood nook where tradition and hospitality gently invite you to slow down and savor the moment. The hum of friendly chatter blends with the comforting aromas of simmering stews and fresh dough, creating an atmosphere at once unassuming and deeply welcoming. It’s a place where the pace is relaxed but animated—a hub for both locals reconnecting over familiar flavors and visitors eager to explore the heart of Polish home cooking in Philadelphia.

Here, the experience is less about rushing through a meal and more about discovering stories layered within each bite. The kitchen’s devotion to classic recipes offers a sense of continuity, as if you’ve been handed a seat at a family table. Plates arrive brimming with pierogi varieties that coax curiosity—some filled with earthy potatoes and cheddar, others playfully folded with unexpected touches like cheesesteak or vibrant vegan options. Each dish can feel like a small celebration: the tang of sauerkraut, the sweetness of caramelized onions, the gentle brightness of beet salad, and the perfect tang of sour cream all working together to create a taste of home that’s at once familiar and new.

Mom-Mom’s Kitchen also honors the rhythm of seasonal treats and thoughtful pairings that elevate these humble ingredients. Whether it’s a rich, warmly spiced pickle soup or a slice of raisin pear struesel cake accompanied by homemade caramel ice cream, desserts here are a gentle encore to the meal’s hearty notes. Drinks, including local beers, are chosen to complement and refresh, reinforcing the feeling that each visit is a carefully curated experience rather than just another stop.

The welcoming and attentive nature of the staff adds a human warmth to the kitchen’s offerings, making the space feel like more than a restaurant—it’s a genuinely personal discovery. For those less familiar with Polish cuisine, friendly guidance ensures the menu feels accessible without losing the richness of its roots. For regulars, the place embodies a reliable joy, a rare spot where authentic cooking and a sense of belonging quietly meet.

My mother has been wanting to try this place for a while now and she left happy. She ordered the mom mom plate and enjoyed the potato pierogis and kielbasa. I tried the kielbasa and was a fan, but it's up to the person here. I ordered the special roast pork pierogis. The pork was excellent, but I wasnt a super fan of the fried cheese layer on top. It made for a learning experience on how to attack this jawn. I had to friggin try it though. I would prolly go with some potato and cheese ones next time around. Service was excellent. Good luck with your parking skills. We got pretty lucky.

Wow! Make time for Mom-Mom’s next time you are in Philly. I saw Mom-Mom’s on diners drive-ins & dives and put them on our list to visit. Finally was back in Philly so we had to stop. The pierogis were out of this world, the cheesesteak pierogis are a must try. Absolutely delicious! Pictures are the cheesesteak pierogis and Pop-Pop Plate. The staff are also very super friendly. Definitely will be back!

This was our first stop arriving in Philly and it was exceptional! Best pierogis of my life!! The guy working was incredibly nice and we really appreciated the carrot cake :)

I’m not too familiar with Polish cuisine, but I have to say that Mom-Mom’s Kitchen has amazing food that’s just spectacular. I wasn’t sure what to order but the waitstaff were extremely kind and friendly, suggesting things to order and recommending things. The food was extremely delicious, came out hot, and quickly. We had some specials like the brisket and also had the feast, which had a plethora of flavors and textures. Everything tasted great, looked great, it was just great. The inside is nice and cozy, with plenty of room for seating and a bar area. I mentioned before but the waitstaff was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall, Mom-Mom’s Kitchen is a great place that I definitely would come back to and definitely recommend.

Great place to get some Polish food! The pork pirogies are amazing. We heard about this place from Check please tv show. Great beer from a local source. Parking is tight but that is typical in the city. Recommend

Port Richmond has some of the best Polish food in America. Mom-Moms has a delicious take on it. We are always happy with the food. The wings are my favorite around and the chicken cutlet is outstanding. Of course the perogies are always delicious. The kielbasa is another level. And good beer from Carbon Copy available as well to round out a great quick meal. They also have a projector and TV with the game on, when applicable.

Mom-Mom’s is just phenomenal. We had them cater our wedding of ~100 people, and it was the perfect choice. The food was outstanding and the service from Ryan and his team was A++. They had multiple kinds of pierogi right off the truck and set up golabki, kielbasa, cheese, bread, pickles and more inside. I can’t count how many guests complimented the food. It was a smash hit. Any encounter with Mom-Mom’s — at their restaurant in Port Richmond or off their food cart in the wild — is going to be a delicious and memorable experience.
